Mission Statement, Vision, and Objectives
For the VDSA
Mission Statement:
To promote the game of soccer, both outdoor and indoor, in the Valley District.
Vision:
To provide people within the Valley District with an opportunity to play organized soccer and to support participants in achieving their potential by providing appropriate programs for developing players, coaches, referees, and volunteers in a positive environment employing the principles of good sportsmanship.
Objectives:
The objectives of the VDSA are as follows:
- To foster and promote the game of soccer for all ages
- To create a positive, fun-filled playing environment for all players, coaches, and parents
- To strive for the highest standards in skill and sportsmanship
- To assist with the development and training of coaches and referees for all levels of competition
- To encourage the development of more and improved playing fields
- To act as a liaison between soccer’s governing bodies and our constituents
- To support provincial/national soccer programs by encouraging participation by players, coaches, and all volunteers
To achieve our objectives, the VDSA provides:
Administration
- Administrative services to support all its members
- Liaison between soccer’s governing bodies and our members
Competition
- Organization of Valley leagues
Player Development
- Organization and support for training programs
Coach Development
- Organization and support for training programs
Referee Development
In conjunction with the Valley Referee Association:
- Encourage and support for training programs
- Encourage and support for mentor and peer review programs
Field Development
- Advocacy for the development and improvement of playing surfaces
- Facilitation of interactions between member clubs and both governmental and non-governmental organizations regarding field development and improvement
